Lava Mirror 1

A churning core of molten energy finds its way to the surface of the Earth and rewrites history. Studio Greytak’s Lava Mirror 1 catches the moments after eruption in a slice of amethyst. A newly reshaped mountain rises amid dispersing clouds of steam and ash. A bubble of polished aluminum is surrounded by frothy, white quartz, which in turn gives way to stacked layers of amethyst. Islands of agate, untouched by the recent fury, dot the new landscape, and around it all, the earthy edge of the geode celebrates the metamorphosis.
